This quick screen looks at your maximum blink interval. It is related to tear-film stability, but it is not the same as the clinical Tear Breakup Time test and cannot diagnose dry eye.

The Dry Eye Center
One clue eye doctors look at is how stable your tear film remains between blinks. In the office, Tear Breakup Time is measured by directly observing the tear film. This quick at-home check is different: it measures how long your eyes feel comfortable before they ask you to blink.
A short interval does not diagnose dry eye, and a longer interval does not rule it out. But when the result lines up with burning, grittiness, watering, fluctuating vision, eye fatigue, or contact-lens discomfort, it can be a useful reason to take a closer look.
